### Entry Requirements

Boston Short Learning Programme [Introduction to Programming](https://uat.boston.ac.za/information-communications-technologies-ict/introduction-to-programming/)
 or equivalent credential.

Principles of Database Programming is offered by Boston City Campus Head Office in the distance e-learning mode of provision, with all Boston City Campuses operating as Support Centres. Register at any of the forty-seven (47) [Boston City Campus Support centres](https://uat.boston.ac.za/contact-us//)
 countrywide.

#### All modules are compulsory and must be passed.

- Practical Project

Assessment Strategies

Formative Assessments are undertaken and the highest grade achieved in Formative Assessment if retained. The final grade is based on the Summative Assessment only. A maximum of one (1) additional supplementary assessment opportunity is provided for the Summative assessment, which will be charged for.

Outcomes

- Demonstrate an understanding of the general principles of database technologies
- Apply the basic principles and procedures of database coding/programming in SQL and Java
